Quick Overview

Murphy Anderson (1926-2015) was truly one of the legendary architects of the DC Silver Age. Here he lends his genius to the premier issue of The Spectre! Jim Corrigan and The Spectre are found speaking to one another in a beautifully inky black background. The Spectre must travel to the Astra-Dimensions to unravel the mystery surrounding the appearance of Cap'n Skull. Three other-worldly panels follow. Each is rendered with such delicacy and simplicity and showcase The Spectre speaking with his ethereal confidants. The last panel features The Spectre's alter ego Jim Corrigan talking to The Spectre whose silhouette can be seen behind him. Expert storytelling, with a light touch to convey mood, we would expect nothing less from the great Murphy Anderson. It should be noted there are 4 punch holes but they do not interfere with the art. Art is in excellent condition otherwise. Provenance Michael Uslan collection, producer of the Batman films. COA
